Most Commonly Asked Lounger Questions:
Note: Pedalounge no longer does Bachelor Parties ( Bachelorettes are always welcome )
Can we drink beer while we ride?
No. Not right now. Other cities allow this and yes, it would be charming.
How many stops do we get?
We usually get to 3 or 4 places. BUT – we need to start on time and, for 4 stops, a pretty quick 20 minutes each.
What are your prices?
Per person for the 2.5 hour trip: Sunday – $23, Wed and Thurs – $22, Friday – $25, Saturday – $25.
Can we bring our 5 year old?
I’m sure she’s cute but guests need to be 21. We’ll need to check everyone’s I.D.
Is the Pedalounge affiliated with any other bike business in Portland?
Nope. The P-Lounge is an independent. Socially liberal, financially conservative. More or less.
Do we tip the driver?
If you had a great time and felt well-taken-care-of, please show your love.
Can we choose where we go?
The tours happen in SE Portland. You’ll work with your Captain to choose your route.
Breweries, bars and dives!
Can you explain the three ride types I see on your booking page?
Everything is based on the premise that we always need at least 10 people on board to head out for a tour.
If you don’t see the type of tour you need for your trip, contact us and we’ll try to give you what you need.
A ‘Whole Bike’ Tour is when you want the entire bike to yourselves. You still need at least 10 people – up to 15.
You can accomplish the same Whole Bike Tour – by simply buying all the seats on either an empty ‘Single Seats’ or ’First 10 Seats’.
A ‘First 10 Seats’ is when you have at least 10 people, but are willing to share any open seats with other Loungers.
So, if you have 11 people ready to go, the 4 remaining open seats will be open to the public.
A ‘Single Seats’ tour has no minimum required to make the initial booking. Of course we’ll still need at least 10 to make the voyage.
If we’re very close to Tour Time and we don’t have the magic 10, we will cancel the tour and give a full refund.
What if I laugh so hard I wet my pants? Do you have towels?
If this is a common occurrence, you may want to bring more pants.
Is this a dangerous activity?
Crossing the street can be dangerous if you aren’t paying attention. If you stay alert you’ll be fine, just don’t try to hop off the Pedalounge while it’s moving!
Can we eat along the way?
So much better to bring some snacks, sandwiches, etc.
We’ve witnessed too many groups spend half their tour waiting for a lousy chicken wrap.
Who drives the Pedalounge?
Pedalounge found an out-of-work trombone player to drive – and they’ve become best friends. Listen to him.
Are tours still going when is it’s windy and raining?
You must be from out of town. If Matt Zaffino tells us, “Run to your basement!” we’ll reschedule.
What if I need to cancel?
Yes that can happen and here’s what we’ll do:
It it’s four weeks or more away, you’ll get a full refund.
If it’s less than four weeks, you’ll get a raincheck good for 90 days.
If it’s seven days or less you won’t receive a refund.
Is my Canadian I.D. an acceptable form of I.D. for proof of age?
Strict OLCC rules say no. Canadians and other world travelers need to bring their passports.
I know, right?
Can we bring our own snacks and drinks?
Yes, but no glass containers and, once again, no alcohol. Who’s tired of hearing that?
Are the beverages included in the price?
The beverage costs fall on the guests. The seat price is for the Pedalounge experience only.
We could include the drinks in the price, but we’d be out of business in an hour.
